How much does website maintenance cost?
Website maintenance for a small business usually costs $30 to $250 a month, or about $360 to $3,000 a year, according to 2026 pricing guides. At Black Track, hosting only costs $120 a year, and care plans with checks, fixes and edits cost $49 or $149 a month.
Typical maintenance prices in 2026
Maintenance prices vary because "maintenance" means different things: hosting alone, routine checks, or a set number of developer hours each month. These published ranges cover small-business and WordPress-style sites.

What our care plans cost
Hosting is included for the first 6 months on eligible static sites. After that, every Black Track site has three options, all in USD:
- Hosting only, $120 a year: managed static hosting, SSL certificate and CDN delivery. Fixes and edits are quoted at $50 per hour.
- Care, $49 a month (recommended): hosting, a monthly check of every page, form and link, fixes for anything we built, and up to 1 hour of content edits a month.
- Care Plus, $149 a month: everything in Care, up to 3 hours of edits a month, a quarterly speed and search check with a written report, and priority scheduling.
You can also take the files and host the site yourself. We hand them over at launch.
Why a static site costs less to maintain
Much of the work in a typical maintenance plan is keeping a content management system safe: updating plugins and themes, testing that updates didn't break anything, and restoring backups when they do. The sites in our packages are static, hand-built HTML, CSS and JavaScript with no plugins or database, so that work doesn't exist. Maintenance time goes into checking the site and changing its content instead.
What drives maintenance cost
- How often the content changes. A menu or price list that changes weekly needs more edit time than a site that changes twice a year.
- The platform. Sites built on a CMS with plugins need regular updates and testing; static sites don't.
- Forms and integrations. Every connection to a booking tool, CRM or newsletter is one more thing to check.
- Response expectations. Priority scheduling and reporting cost more than work done in the normal queue.
Do I need a website maintenance plan?
Not always. A static site that rarely changes can run on hosting only, with fixes or edits paid by the hour when needed. A plan is worth it when the content changes every month or when you want someone checking that every page, form and link still works.
What is included in Black Track's $49 Care plan?
The Care plan costs $49 a month and includes managed hosting with SSL and CDN, a monthly check of every page, form and link, fixes for anything Black Track built that stops working, and up to 1 hour of content edits each month. Unused hours don't carry over, and the plan can be cancelled with 30 days' notice.
How much does website hosting cost per year?
Shared hosting usually costs $5–$20 a month according to WebsiteSetup's 2026 guide. Black Track's managed static hosting costs $120 a year after the first 6 months, which are included on eligible static sites.
